RESILIENCE & RISK: CYBER SECURITY UNCOVERED
January 6, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Newport, United Kingdom
This first Digital Tuesday of 2015 will explore cyber security. How can you identify and manage risk, build resilience and continue to prosper? What is the reality of the threats you face? Whether you’re a business leader or technologist (or both) this session promises to address your interest in what continues to be one of the enduring themes of the digital economy.
Most of us now use the internet to do business, to advertise and sell, to find new markets, customers and staff, communicate with customers and suppliers, and carry out financial transactions. The internet brings huge opportunities and benefits but with that brings risk. In the 2014 Information Security Breaches Survey carried out by pwc, 81% of large organisations and 60% of small organisations had experienced a security breach during the previous year, with the average cost of that breach doubling from 2013 to £600k – £1.5 Million for a large organisation and £65k to £115k for a small organisation.
Join us at our next event where Brian Lord OBE, Managing Director PGI Cyber will be discussing the current internal and external risks, steps that can be taken to reduce the risk and the opportunities that can arise from embracing the growing demand for cyber security skills and expertise.
As Cyber Crime and reputation risks are moving up the ranks of risks for UK and Global businesses, Peter Martin (Thomas Carroll Group PLC) will be discussing Company and Director liabilities, Data and Digital Disaster Risk Management and how businesses can ensure additional protection via cyber and IT liability policies.
