Public Sector Digital Transformation and the £57bn SME Opportunity

When UK Government announced its ambitious plans to spend 25% of its annual £230bn (yes, that’s billion!!) goods and services budget with SMEs it grabbed all the headlines, and rightly so. This coupled with its digital transformation drive promised to deliver a significant boost to the SMEs that underpin the UK economy.

Two years on and the headlines are less favourable as the latest Government figures (2012-13) indicate this aspirational target is in real danger of coming up short, and by some considerable way. So what’s gone wrong?

At July’s Digital Tuesday gathering we’ll aim to uncover the answers as we unravel the complexities and demystify the ‘myths’ of selling to the public sector.

Hear from Derek Hobbs, Head of Digital Services at the Department of Work and Pensions and chair of Digital Leaders Wales together with Paul Matthews, Chief Executive of Monmouthshire County Council and Andrew Falvey, Commercial Director at DVLA who will share their knowledge, experiences and insights into how SMEs can take advantage of the growing digital transformation opportunities within the public sector.

Following the discussion you will be able to network with speakers and peers with drinks kindly sponsored by Digital Leaders Wales and Skyscape Cloud Services.

Come along and see how you can grab a slice of this £57bn opportunity?
